Mining Company Location: Botswana Nationality: Motswana citizen preferred Qualifications: Relevant Degree or Diploma Salary: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications Overview: Provide leadership and technical support to the mine operations and ensure that the operation’s activities comply with best practice Environmental management and Community Relations standards. Job Specifications:

Plan, develop and implement Environmental Management Systems to ensure effective controls are in place to protect employees and mine assets
Develop monitoring systems and processes to ensure that any Environmental non-compliance is identified and rectified in a timely manner
Develop and implement a rehabilitation programme to ensure that mined areas are returned to their natural state
Provide input into solving site environmental problems and co-ordinate strategies for their long term management
Play a leading role in the relevant industry committees, government working groups to ensure that the Company’s interests are represented and protected
Together with Human Resources, build a successful team
Provide advice to management and mentor line management
Develop and communicate a Community Engagement Strategy and framework against which activities can be measured and success communicated
Provide leadership to the team, ensuring a working environment that is conducive to the achievement of discipline targets and where employees are able to reach their full potential
Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with relevant Botswana Regulations and International laws as well as Company Environmental / Community Relations policies, standards and procedures

Minimum Requirements:

Relevant degree or diploma
Proven track record in mining projects plus the area of operational readiness
Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years post graduate experience in Environmental work plus 5 years in a management role
A competent manager and leader
Excellent communication and people skills
Motswana citizen preferred
